Terms of service

The terms for using Fathom Audit. By creating an account you accept what’s described here.

Last updated: 10/15/2026

Draft pending legal review. The text is complete and describes what the service actually does, but a lawyer has to review it before it counts as final. One piece of information is also missing: the company isn’t incorporated yet, so its legal name, registered address and tax number aren’t here.

1. Who we are

Fathom Audit is launching and the company that will run it isn’t incorporated yet. As soon as it is, its legal name, registered address and tax number will appear here. In the meantime, the person responsible for the service answers at support@fathomaudit.com, which is the only contact address.

2. What we offer

The service crawls websites and produces reports on speed, technical SEO, AI search visibility, images, accessibility and security. They’re automated checks made from the outside, the way a search engine would.

The reports are guidance: they don’t replace a professional review, they don’t guarantee any position in any search engine or AI assistant, and they aren’t a penetration test or a security audit of your code or your server.

3. Your account

You have to be of legal age and give real details. You’re responsible for what happens in your account and for keeping your credentials safe; tell us as soon as you suspect someone got in without your permission.

On the Agency plan you can invite more team members with different permissions. You’re responsible for what they do, and invitations that haven’t been accepted count towards your plan’s limit until they expire.

4. Sites you can audit

You can only audit sites that are yours or that someone has authorized you to audit. The exception is competitor benchmarking, which crawls a sample of up to 50 pages of other people’s sites, without signing in and without touching anything.

Our crawler always identifies itself as FathomBot, respects the site’s robots.txt and limits its own rate. If you run a site and don’t want us crawling it, block FathomBot in your robots.txt.

  • Using the service to overload someone else’s site or take it down.
  • Auditing sites with illegal or prohibited content.
  • Reselling access to the service on a plan that doesn’t allow it.
  • Getting around your plan’s limits with several accounts, or around the free scan’s limit by changing connection.

5. Plans, payments and renewal

Plans are paid up front, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until you cancel. The annual plan saves you at least the equivalent of two monthly payments.

When you move up a plan, the new plan applies as soon as you approve it and its price is charged from the next renewal, with no difference charged; when you move down, you keep your plan until the end of the paid period and the new one is charged from the next renewal. If you move down or cancel in the same period as an upgrade you hadn’t paid for yet, you keep the plan you paid for, and your next upgrades start with the next charge.

Manual audits have no maximum number, subject to fair use: one at a time per site, two at a time per account and up to 20 per site in 24 hours. On the Agency plan, instead of the per-site limit, up to 25,000 audited pages per account in 24 hours. Failed audits don’t count. If you reach that limit, the app tells you when you can start the next one; if your normal use needs more, write to us.

The launch offer is 50% off the first month, monthly plan only, once per domain, and it expires 72 hours after the free scan that created it.

Prices are shown in US dollars (USD). During the launch we don’t add taxes to the charge.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel whenever you want from your account, with no phone call and no explanation. Within 14 days of your first payment you can request a full refund from your account, once per customer: it can’t be used again with another account, the same email or the same PayPal account. When we refund it, we cancel the subscription and paid access ends at that moment.

After that, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and unused time isn’t refunded, except where consumer law says otherwise.

7. Service availability

We work to keep the service available, but we don’t promise any uptime percentage or uninterrupted service. There may be maintenance and changes; we’ll give reasonable notice when they matter.

8. Intellectual property

The software, the brand, the design and the shape of the reports are ours. You keep the rights to your data and to the sites you audit, and you authorize us to process them only to provide the service.

9. White label

The Agency plan lets you publish reports under your brand, on your own domain, with your logo on the PDF and on alert emails. The technical sending of those emails still goes out from our domain, even though the visible sender is yours.

You remain responsible for what you share with your clients and for having permission to audit their sites.

10. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid in the previous twelve months. We’re not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or lost data from decisions you make based on the reports.

11. Suspension and closure

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, doesn’t pay, or puts the service or other people at risk. We’ll give notice first unless it’s too serious to wait, and you’ll be able to export your data before closure.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days beforehand. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before they take effect.

13. Governing law

The governing law and the competent courts will be those of the country where the company is incorporated, and they’ll appear here as soon as it is. None of this reduces the rights consumer law gives you where you live.
